Kathryn Joseph has dropped the second cut from her upcoming EP of remixes, courtesy of Lomond Campbell. ‘until the truth of you’ was originally heading towards barbed pop territory, but ended up being pushed in the direction of 80s dance pop. The opening moments are dominated by a variety of warm synth sounds, propelled by a pounding four-to-the-floor beat, before her instantly recognisable voice guides us through relentless hooks. On the new version of her track, Kathryn says: “I love that Lomond has changed this track from being a damaged creature mostly accepting its fate into a defiant 80s banger that is absolutely raging, and not in any way about to let any abuser get away with any of their harm.” On January 19th, 2023, Kathryn Joseph will release her new EP, for you who are the wronged (lomond campbell remixes), which contains four remixed songs from her acclaimed current album. -Dan Peeke
